Week 3
Hello All,
With exams happening over the next 4 weeks we'll be running mostly relaxed, informal events. There'll be assorted DVDs and games available with much chance for socialising and relaxing.
This week we're in the Rosa Parkes room for all our meetings; that's Wednesday and Friday from 1pm, and Wednesday evening 7-11pm.
Dates to Remember:
+ Next weekend (19-20th) is Tolkien Weekend, and this year sees the 70th Anniversary of the Hobbit. There will be various activities and events at Sarehole Mill. Follow the link for more details: http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/GenerateContent?CONTENT_ITEM_ID=102364&CONTENT_ITEM_TYPE=0&MENU_ID=10254
+ 2-3 June: The UK Games Expo is being held right here in Edgbaston. Entry = £3.95 max and there'll be various traders, demos, tournaments and gamers. The event is cheap, easy to get to, and should be fun for all the gamers among you. If you want to go with other people speak to
davegotsu. More info can be found here: www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk
+ Fri 8th June: Sci-fi and Fantasy author Robert Holdstock visits our friends at the Birmingham Science Fiction Group. Meeting at the Britannia Hotel, New Street, Birmingham City Centre. Doors open at 7.30 pm for an 8pm start. The hotel is licensed. Admission = £3 members, £4 non-members.
Have fun,
Cathy
