Damn it Shaz, responding on yahoo groups is some sort of dystopian nightmare I want no part in. What's wrong with good old fashioned emails?

I'll say the same thing I said last year, we're playing into their hands if we pick popular games, they've got experts in all of them. Cat is right, they would've beaten us if we'd played their best players. I think she might try to prove the point this year and I think it'd be hilareous if they lost using their best players :D

Therefore I recommend we scrap the games list and find games that our society members have some particular advantage in. The following comes to mind:

A number of us are playing a fallout RPG. (And a couple of us know the game inside out) Add fallout tactics to the list!

I'm fairly sure I'm the only person in the world who doesn't think Chaos League sucks, I'll play that.

They've got more gamers, but we've got more rules lawyers, something with a painfull character creation process that can be abused...I recommend freedom force with the X cubed mod (Adds a million and one new options)

Anything else come to mind peeps?

Battlefield 1942

I defy anyone to beat me in a dogfight, plus I can pull off the "stand on the wing of a fighterplane" manoeuver in capture the flag mode.

On a side note are you free tomorrow (saturday) afternoon?

You are right cvg could have crushed us if they wanted to but they didnt and wont draft from outside the society this time. battle field is a good option although personally i would prefer call of duty 2. i will ask for fallout

Not that I am taking sides here (since I have been members of both CVG and RPsoc in the past) but I believe Neverwinter Nights (and probably the second one) had arena modes in it as well with some fairly interesting mechanics in it.

I can suggest maybe card games, when I was there they used to play the odd game of Magic and Pokemon, I would of thought someone would of picked up Warcraft TCG by now.

Apparently this year is pretty much devoted to consoles atm since the guild has screwed over CVG soc apparently. So beware of console games.

Anyway I am sure they are just trying to be friendly, there has always been talk of CVG wanting to do more stuff with RP and Sci-fi, if it was the people I was with I doubt they would ambush you and for the most part they cant as the player base is quite diverse. Final pieces of advice are to stay away from Warcraft 3 and specifically DOTA mod, and if Jez is still around or G dont touch Street fighter 3rd strike.

Anyway have fun man, and mention how it goes, I would be interested to hear how about it.

Also Fallout rocks, long live Fallout (although Tactics was underwhelming).
